Programs for the disabled
In a perfect world, deficiency is not an impediment, shortage, but another side of normality. The community often tends to marginalize those who are different.
The impaired persons suffer not so much because of the deficiency, but because of the attitude that the others have towards it. It is not enough to say they have the same rights but we need to offer them the same opportunities to integration in society.
The main goal of the programs for impaired persons within the Romanian Maltese Relief Service is represented by the integration in the community. Through the activities deployed we want to increase their independence, to provide them with tools to compensate for the deficiency and to improve their communication skills. We pay special attention to people with mobility and associated impairments.
