Unfortunately, there are mothers who desert their children at hospital, parents who neglect them, parents who want them but can not protect them and offer a loving family. Our maternity program in Sfântu Gheorghe wishes to offer these children a family where they can enjoy a proper physical and intellectual development. In 2007, 12 children between 1and 4 years old, staying with six families were assisted within the project, all the children coming from the children’s home in the same town. The project will run for 10 years in cooperation with the Association for the Protection of the Children in Sfântu Gheorghe, the parents being trained to become maternity assistants. They nurse, educate and protect children who are in the home, thus offer them the opportunity to develop harmoniously.
