The special Maltese kindergarten in Cluj Napoca was founded as a result of the growing necessities to develop alternative services for children with special needs. The existence of this kind of kindergarten prevents marginalization and abandon, and increases the chances of recovery and integration in the society of these disadvantaged children.

Our project is meant to help physically disabled children. Most of the children come from families having social problems and from children’s home.

The services offered at the kindergarten aim to develop the children’s skills to be able to live independently, so that later they could follow the special or the mass education. The parents are also included in the program, they benefit of counseling offered by the specialized staff, in order to meet the needs of the disabled children better. They are also informed about the legal, medical and social aspects which are connected to the specific problems of their children.

The kindergarten has a capacity of 17 places. Seven of the present beneficiaries come from a children’s home.
